Today was the first day on the river. We had an early wake of 6am this morning for the tear down of the site at Virginia Falls. At around 8:00 am we started the haul of all of our gear to the take off point past the falls. We set up all of the canoes for going through the canyons while we were on the side of the river. We had a beautiful view of the falls which teased us all morning to go down the river. After lunch by the side of the river we finally headed out on the water. There was some amazing scenery going through Canyon 4 and also a bit of excitement. We made it to our end point for the day at this half rocky beach half sand and vegetation island. We set up our biv site ate supper and headed off to bed.
