0730 woke up, IC today. 10:00 crossed river to hike Sunblood Mountain. 10:12 started. Went from path in trees to narrow shale, back to tree, then rocky and narrow. One persons bag rolled down steep rocky section with water flying out as it went down. Maj Daniel retrieved the bag and Capt Hannan got the top to his water bladder. 4 hrs up, 2 down. At top could see mountains in every direction. Snacked on granola bars because didn’t have time to make lunch. Had proper lunch at 5ish. 6:30 canoed over to portage area just above the falls. Went on tour of Virginia Falls with Scott, the warden here. Portaged canoes 1.2 Km. Had supper as it was getting dark. During night got to about 8 degrees C. Foggy with heavy mist in morning, burned off and not a cloud was in the sky.
